Retirement might feel far off—but the more clarity you have now, the more control you’ll have later. These 6 practical tips will help you understand your financial future in no time.

01
Start with the basics

Visit shellpensioen.nl for all the details on the current pension plans from SNPS and SSPF. Were you already working at Shell before 1 July 2013? Then you’re accruing pension with SSPF. Did you start on or after 1 July 2013? Then you’re accruing pension with SNPS.

Want to know everything about your new pension?
In collaboration with Prikkl, an independent financial coaching and advice platform, we have developed a personalised tool explaining the new SNPS pension rules. In it, we show what stays the same for you and what changes. You have received an e-mail about this with a personal code.

In addition, we have developed the CARE programme for all members - SSPF and SNPS - through which we guide you step by step towards your new pension.

02
Check where you stand

Log in to mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl to see all your accrued pension rights — including from previous employers. You’ll also find clear information about your Dutch state pension (AOW).

03
Monitor your capital

Log in to my-Shell pension to view your pension capital. With SSPF, this amount is reserved for you. With SNPS, your capital depends on your investments — which may fluctuate. On my-Shell pension, you can see how your capital is developing. SNPS participants receive a quarterly value statement.

04
Choose your investment profile

At SNPS, you decide how much investment risk you want to take: defensive, neutral, or offensive. You can adjust your profile via my-Shell pension. The investment balance tool shows what your choice means for your future pension.

05
Personalize your pension

Nearing retirement? Then you can make choices that suit your personal situation—like converting your partner’s pension into additional old-age pension, or vice versa. Shell Pension is here to help. For personalised advice, we offer a session with a financial advisor.

Got questions—especially now that your pension plan is changing?
It’s important to know your options: retiring now or waiting for the new plan, continuing to work longer, retiring partially, or stopping early. Shell Pension has partnered with Prikkl to offer you a personal consultation with a financial advisor. This helps you understand your options and choose what suits you best. The consultation is fully covered by Shell Pension.

Are you eligible for a free personal consultation?
Prikkl’s advisers are available to Shell Pension participants who want to decide on their retirement date this year. Let Prikkl guide you and create your personal plan together.
